Statement regarding
APRON Inc and COVID-19
All of us at APRON are excited to see our beloved Independent Restaurants and Bars at full capacity, brimming with energy and with guests in celebratory moods.
We salute all our friends who worked so hard through the last year to make the restaurants safe for us, and who found new ways to make their businesses function.
Please know that our hearts go out to all who lost loved ones during the last 15 months. There are a lot of empty seats that we wish were still filled with old friends.
The virus really put APRON to the test- we received an unprecedented number of applications, and have paid out (as of June 2) $286,000 to 543 recipients from 170 different Independent Restaurants. We are very proud of the help we were able to give back to our community; and are humbled beyond words at the immense Community, Corporate, and Foundation support we received though the year.
As of June 30, 2021 we will no longer be offering the special Covid grants.
The heart of our mission, our regular grant program, will keep on stronger and more robust than ever. We also plan to add information seminars on topics touching on restaurant employment, i.e. taxes, insurance, addiction awareness, etc.
Please consider a donation today, no matter how small.
